Focusing for me is a very gentle method for self-discovery and personal growth. Its purity as a method is through one’s engagement with oneself without external opinions or judgements, enabling us to find our own answers. I have been Focusing for eight years, and with Carolann Samuels for nearly a year and she has conducted herself with absolute integrity and has helped me with the Focusing process without influencing the direction of my unfolding. I fully recommend her as a Focusing teacher.
It seems that Yoga is seen as a young, slim and very flexible person’s practice which is a terrible shame. Yoga is the fantastic practice for everyone, young, old, slim and not so slim. It’s energising and relaxing, not a competition with the person next to you in the class. In Yoga you work at your own pace as hard or as gentle as you want to be. Sometimes it’s a hard work out, sometimes a lovely relaxing one. The diversity of Yoga is a most exciting thing and going to a class is a lovely adventure. Yoga is good for every part of our being and helps us with our everyday lives.
Carolann and I have been regular Focusing partners now for about 18 months. I wouldn’t be without it. Our regular practice is great for integrating mind with body wisdom, feeling grounded and moving forwards.
Thank you so much for a wonderful Yoga day. “Magic” is the word that keeps recurring to my mind, together with the image of little fluffy clouds floating serenely in a pure blue sky.
(This was after a Yoga Day held outside on a summer day!)
I’m really enjoying your classes and I can feel a big difference to the condition of my body and body awareness. Thank you.
YOGA, YOGA, how can I possibly do yoga? I’m 67 years old, overweight and have Parkinson’s disease. My wife smiled knowing I had fallen into the trap, “Ah, but what about the chair based yoga classes in Hythe”? So, I reluctantly attended my first class and to be frank, have not looked back. The hour long sessions fly by and the period following the session is usually the best I have felt all week. It is amazing how many moves one can achieve while sitting on a chair and those combined with a “warm up” period and a closing relaxation period makes the experience a highlight in my week.
“I recommend Carolann highly for her Chair-based yoga classes. Always feel much better after a session with her.”
